GAESO ASKS PM KOIRALA TO COME CLEAN ON GURKHA ISSUES!
GAESO President, Padam Bahadur Gurung, issued a press statement on 28 November 2007 from London asking Prime Minister Koirala to come clean on the Gurkhas continuing equality battle with the United Kingdom. Challenging recent comments by PM Koirala on Gurkha issues, GAESO has urged to stop telling lies and instruct his Ministry of Foreign Affairs to write an official letter to British Ministry of Defence if he has the guts so that equality is ensured! VC HERO BACKS GONG CALL
HONOUR THE BRAVE DAILY MIRROR

Nobody knows better than Tul Bahadur Pun what a medal means to a soldier.
The Victoria Cross hero, barred entry to the UK for medical treatment until the Mirror helped him win his fight, found his award vital in helping him cope with the trauma of war.
And now the Gurkha is proud to back OUR fight to get a medal for every soldier killed or injured.
The 86-year-old said: "I support this campaign till I die. It may be a simple thing to those who make decisions and do not know its value.
"But only those in the battlefield know what a medal means.
"It is a recognition of loyalty, bravery and discipline. Without my VC, I would not be in this country. Medals are the most important assets in Army life."
Mr Pun said he was baffled by the attitude of our top brass.
He went on: "I find it difficult to understand why Britain's heroes and veterans are denied medals they deserve. A medal is a kind of painkiller."
Speaking of his service in Burma in World War II, he said: "I remember the day I killed 51 enemies of Britain in one morning. It is the Victoria Cross that gave me a relief, satisfaction and recognition."
Mr Pun had virtually no eyesight for 13 years and would most likely have died if he had stayed in his Nepal village.
Yet the Gurkha was barred entry to the UK as he had "too few ties".
A campaign by human rights lawyer Martin Howe and the Mirror got the government to change its tune.
But Mr Pun now faces a new fight. His VC was taken from him by Army chiefs years ago "for safe keeping" and put in a museum. He is demanding its return.
Speaking at a ceremony for Gurkha dead in Whitehall, London, yesterday, he said: "I have my own example of such a campaign."I am fighting for the return of my VC, taken under manipulation. This is life and death for me.
I want to keep it. I want to wear it. I know the value of it. I don't want to die without wearing it in front of the British public. " Original link here.....
